----------------------------- Research Technician University of Edinburgh Location: Edinburgh Salary: £21,391 to £24,775 Hours: Full Time Contract Type: Contract / Temporary Placed on: 16th February 2015 Closes: 16th March 2015 Job Ref: 032605 ----------------------------- A Technician post for a biologist with an interest in nanotoxicology or cardiovascular science. The post will support a European Union FP7-funded project called “NanoMILE”, a large collaborative project comprising of 28 partners across Europe. The University of Edinburgh partners’ role will be to investigate the cardiovascular effects of existing and emerging nanomaterials. The post will support basic science work under the supervision of Dr Mark Miller (Centre for Cardiovascular Science) and Dr Rodger Duffin (Centre for Inflammation Research) based within the Queens Medical Research Institute on the Little France/Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh Campus. The ideal candidate will have a good quality biological science degree. Experience of histology or working with nanoparticles is recommended. Laboratory experience in an academic environment would also be desirable. The post is available on a fixed term basis for a period of 22 months.
